Light and heavy series: which thread belongs to which tube?

Compression fittings (24° cone) to DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1. The series results from the tube outside diameter and the thread of the union nut.

Series L – light

Tube outside ØUnion nut thread
6 mm (L6)M12 × 1.5
8 mm (L8)M14 × 1.5
10 mm (L10)M16 × 1.5
12 mm (L12)M18 × 1.5
15 mm (L15)M22 × 1.5
18 mm (L18)M26 × 1.5
22 mm (L22)M30 × 2
28 mm (L28)M36 × 2
35 mm (L35)M45 × 2
42 mm (L42)M52 × 2

Series S – heavy

Tube outside ØUnion nut thread
6 mm (S6)M14 × 1.5
8 mm (S8)M16 × 1.5
10 mm (S10)M18 × 1.5
12 mm (S12)M20 × 1.5
14 mm (S14)M22 × 1.5
16 mm (S16)M24 × 1.5
20 mm (S20)M30 × 2
25 mm (S25)M36 × 2
30 mm (S30)M42 × 2
38 mm (S38)M52 × 2
Example: Measured thread M18 × 1.5 → either tube 12 mm series L or tube 10 mm series S. The tube outside diameter is decisive.

Permissible pressures depend on series, size and material according to the fitting manufacturer's data sheet. Series LL (extra light) on request.
