Understanding part numbers

How FLEXQ part numbers are built – series, nominal size, connection, valve, size, outlet and options.

Mono couplings

Every FLEXQ part number follows the same key. Example: coupling HPT, nominal size 9, hose barb Ø 13, with valve, 90° outlet, with safety lock.

HPT09FHB13-90S
Series Profile, e.g. HPT = European profile
Nominal size in mm
Type F = coupling · M = nipple
Connection see table
Valve B = with valve · F = without valve
Size Thread or hose code
Outlet -45 / -90, none = straight
Options see table, several possible

Multi couplings

For multi couplings the number describes a complete plate: which side, how many connections and what the plate is fitted with. Machine side and mould side are ordered separately.

MPHPT.09-12FHB12
Side MP = machine side · FP = mould side
Series.nominal size e.g. HPT.09
Ports -06 / -08 / -12 / -16 / -20 / -24
Insert F = coupling · M = nipple
Connection H, P, F, N – as for mono couplings
Valve B = with · F = without
Size Hose Ø or thread code

Connection (2nd letter)

CodeConnection
MMale thread BSP or metric, parallel
FFemale thread BSP
RMale thread BSP, tapered (BSPT)
OMale thread BSP or metric, parallel, with sealing ring
TMale thread NPT
NFemale thread NPT
HHose barb (standard hose with clamp)
PPush-in barb (push-on hose)

Parts of the multi coupling number

Part of the numberMeaningExample
MPMachine side – the moving plate with locking, usually fitted with couplingsMP HPT.09-12 FHB 12
FPMould side – the plate on the mould, usually fitted with nipplesFP HPT.09-12 MHB 12
-06 … -24Number of connections (channels) of the plateHPT.09-16 = 16 connections
CCollector version of the machine side (directly after the number)MP HPT.09-12C …
KMould side as aluminium plateFP MPT.09-12K …
-9090° outlet (angled) – on the mould sideFP HPT.09-12 MHB 12-90
without insert codeUnpopulated plate, machine side with locking unitMP HPT.09-12
PPParking plate for the machine sideFP MPT.09-12 PP
M … (single part)Single insert for the plate, e.g. spare couplingM HPT.09 FHB 12
Note on connections: The machine side (MP) usually carries the couplings (F…), the mould side (FP) the matching nipples (M…). In the direction of flow the coupling is always at the end of the hose. For the connection on the insert the same codes apply as for mono couplings: H = hose barb, P = push-in barb, F = female thread BSP, N = female thread NPT.
